Early Thursday morning, the United States launched a new round of airstrikes against Iran, prompting Iran to launch retaliatory strikes against Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, once again threatening the interim agreement aimed at finding a way to end the Gulf War.
There are currently no reports of casualties in the three Gulf Arab countries. The Kuwaiti military said it was actively intercepting incoming drones and missiles.
U.S. President Donald Trump said that Iran’s recent attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz marked the end of the fragile ceasefire agreement. Earlier Wednesday, the U.S. military struck several military bases and port facilities.
Trump also threatened to occupy Kharg Island, through which about 90 percent of Iran’s oil exports pass.
