On Sunday, following a new round of U.S. airstrikes against the Islamic Republic, Iran once again launched drone and missile attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, threatening that if Washington continued its attacks, Iran would completely halt negotiations to end the war.
Kuwait is home to a major U.S. military base. There have been no reports of casualties or property damage. Bahrain stated that the Iranian attack damaged a residential building near the international airport, with no fatalities reported. Bahrain is home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet. The damaged building is not located near the fleet’s headquarters.
Pakistan, the lead mediator, said the U.S. and Iran will resume negotiations on the terms of an interim agreement on Tuesday. The Trump administration said Sunday that nothing had been canceled and that technical talks in the coming days were proceeding as planned.
