The Gaza Ministry of Health said Wednesday that Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip have killed 1,005 Palestinians since Israel and the militant group Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement last October.
Health officials at Nasser Hospital said that, also on Wednesday, an Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, killed two Palestinians and wounded six others. The Israeli military acknowledged carrying out the strike.
Israel says it will continue to target Hamas and its allied militants in Gaza and has expanded its control over the Gaza Strip. Both sides accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
In another statement on Wednesday, the Israeli military said it had killed two militants from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad during airstrikes over the weekend.
